Launch & booksigning: Fabio Barile – Works for a Cosmic Feeling

June 13 @ 18:30 - 20:00

June 13 @ 18:30 20:00

On Thursday June 13, Fabio Barile will be at Micamera to talk about Works for a Cosmic Feeling, just released by Witty Books.

Booksigning will follow

The title is a tribute to Romain Rolland, a French writer and mystic who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1915 “as a tribute to the lofty idealism (…) and to his sympathy and love of truth”. In a letter to Freud he coined the phrase oceanic feeling to refer to “a sensation of eternity”, a feeling of “being one with the external world as a whole”. And that is (maybe) what Barile’s book is about: exploring our own and other people’s universe using photography combined with science and philosophy.

Works for a Cosmic Feeling represents a map and an ode at the same time. The images trace the author’s universe, the constellations that guide and inspire his wonders, the paths and crossroads where he gets lost and finds himself. As in a quantum system, Barile represents a potential space through a narrative steeped in probability and randomness, activating a wide range of relationships between the elements that make up this human perception atlas.

Works for a Cosmic Feeling was finalist for MACK’s First Book Award in 2021 and now is finally available:
