On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 September Jesse Lenz will be at Micamera for the workshop The Labyrinth of Enchantment.

The aim of this workshop is to help participants better understand their work, direction and intent. Through portfolio reviews, lectures and Q&A discussions, Jesse will guide group through the broader context of each participant’s work. Together finding the narrative threads to weave content, images, and motifs into compelling visual experiences.

As an artist, curator, book maker, publisher, and entrepreneur, Lenz has first hand experience in every aspect of the photobook. This two day workshop will guide participants through all aspects of the creative process: from to inspiration to concept development, editing and sequencing, and discovering long-term projects that you’re passionate about.

Jesse Lenz  (1988, Montana) is a self-taught photographer and multidisciplinary artist. He is the author of The Seraphim (2024) and The Locusts (2020). He is the founder and director of Charcoal Book Club and the Chico Review, and the publisher of Charcoal Press. As an illustrator he has created images for publications including TIME, The New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, Rolling Stone, and many others. From 2011-2018 he also co-founded and published The Collective Quarterly and The Coyote Journal. He lives on a farm in rural Ohio.
