A Natural Order – Lucas Foglia

In the summer of 2006 Lucas Foglia began photographing people who, having left the big cities, decided to live in the countryside of the Southeastern United States. Reasons for such “migration” include concern about environmental conditions, religious issues, or predictions of impending economic collapse. Lucas photographed these people as they try to work for their livelihoods. No one lives in complete isolation, but by choosing which part of the modern world to embrace and which to leave behind. “A Natural Order” is a body of work made over the course of five years through a stunning collection of images that explore the human relationship in relation to the wilderness….
