Blisner, IL is both a new edition and a pseudo-sequel to Blisner, Ill, a self-published photobook by Daniel Shea that explores the processes of deindustrialisation in the American Rust Belt. A mix of various visual and narrative techniques that intertwine to usher in a new way of telling the story of a place, in this case a medium-sized town in Southern Illinois.

One can look at this work as a kind of essay on the strange decay of America and its dream, an imaginary place that will always live in the imagination as a trace, never fading or coming true.
