Life Adjustment Center – Ryan McGinley

“Life Adjustment Centre” coincides with an exhibition opening on 29 October 2010 at Ratio3 in San Francisco. Two series of photographs are presented in this book – first, a collection of black and white studio nudes, including many with wild animals, an extension of the studio series ‘Everybody Knows This is Nowhere’. The second series portrays McGingley’s friends in dreamlike compositions, full of movement and colour, during recent adventures on the road. Black and white and colour intertwine in a sequence organised around the theme of the youthful body, McGingley’s favourite subject.
