An exhibition of colour photographs illustrating the ‘nothingness’ associated with the urban transformation of an explicitly English reality such as the town of Leeds. Mixing image issues, aliens, space missions and the colourful landscape, it all took place in 1979 at the ‘Impressions Gallery of Photography’ in York.
The effect was more or less the bleak one of William Eggleston’s first exhibition at the MoMa in 1976.
Today, an extraordinary and highly anticipated book celebrates that uncertain past and a present yet to be defined.
