The Crisis Tapes originates from the two-year period when the author’s daughter gradually lost her eyesight, sinking inexorably into the deep abyss of depression and dragging her family down with her.
The parents, lost in a labyrinth of bureaucracy and burdened by a creeping feeling of helplessness, constantly searching for a way out, have found over time that they have taken on the role of subjective interpreters of their daughter’s world to help her navigate her new veiled and unknown world.

The Crisis Tapes draws on the disorientation, anger and emotional confusion of the author’s daily life to thoroughly explore the act of seeing, without taking for granted the little mysteries that constantly happen around us; the sequence unravels in dense yet sharp, beautifully printed photographs.
A book that reckons with the shadows of life, deeply personal, silent and powerful.
